Great fun out in the natural environment
Enjoy thrilling, action-packed water sports including rafting, canoraft, airboat and hydrospeed, at stunning mountain river locations. There are various rafting experiences available which can be booked via the Bureau des Guides Office in Megève (next to the Post Office). Beginner adults and children (aged seven years old and over), can enjoy a more gentle excursion taking in the natural beauty of the Arve River in Passy, while at the other end of the scale, adults and children of 15 years old and over can spend a real adventure day white water rafting in Cormayeur, Italy.

Rock climbing made easy

Ever wanted to try rock climbing, then Via Ferrata is a good place to start. This is a way of hiking a set route following a guide across the rocks by using fixed handrails and a belay system. There are a variety of routes with natural paths, metal ladders, passages and footbridges. Equipment including harness and helmet is provided.

Via Ferrata de Curalla is one of the best local routes and can also be booked through the Guides Office. It is a 400 metre route (at a maximum altitude of 1420 metres), located just 16km from Megève. Open daily from 1 June to 30 September. Age restrictions apply.

A number of activities can be booked through the Guides Office including the watersports and Via Ferrata activities (above), paragliding, mountain biking and adventure walks. A number of these activities require a group booking.

Alex Perrinet, a local mountain guide, is happy to help coordinate group bookings. He speaks English. Contact Alex direct on +33 (0) 685 42 83 39, or ask at the Guides Office.
